Trump wants to take money away from the Pentagon

Trump has backed US billionaire Ilon Musk's efforts to cut spending through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the Financial Times reported.

Trump said Musk has been terrific and very helpful in finding cost-cutting opportunities in the federal government. He said the Defense Department, which has an annual budget of about $800 billion, would be next on the billionaire's radar.

“Let's check out the Army. We're going to find billions, hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud and abuse. You know, people elected me for that,” he said.
