We are nearing the end of the war, - Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the situation in Ukraine is unprecedented in the world and its scale significantly exceeds other armed conflicts, RBC-Ukraine reports.

“I don't want to belittle or put one country above another, but we cannot compare what is happening in the Middle East with what is happening here. These are completely different scales of war. These are different stories,” he said.

The president stressed that despite the shared pain and losses, the war in Ukraine differs in terms of the level of resources used and the scale of operations.

“There are, of course, the same victims, the same living people, and, unfortunately, heavy losses. But it is not comparable. The losses, resources, and scale of the war cannot simply be compared,” Zelensky emphasized.

He recalled that the Ukrainian army has been fighting a much more powerful enemy for more than three years.

“We are fighting the Russian army. That is why this war cannot be ended so quickly,” the president said.

Zelensky stated that recently, the conditions for real progress toward peace have emerged.

“We are close to a possible end to the war. I can tell you that for sure. This does not mean that it will definitely end, but President Trump has achieved a lot in the Middle East, and on this wave, he wants to end Russia's war against Ukraine,” he said.

According to Zelensky, there is a strong political demand for an end to the war in international negotiations.

“That's his mood in the world: let's throw all our forces into ending Russia's war against Ukraine,” he said.

Ukraine is actively using this mood to increase its pressure on Russia, both militarily and diplomatically.

“We are taking certain steps in this mood - Tomahawks, etc., and these are new steps, and they are really putting pressure on Russia,” Zelensky emphasized.
