US to hand over additional Patriot to Ukraine

Trump is considering handing Ukraine an additional Patriot air defense system after pledging in recent days to bolster Kiev against Russian attacks, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The White House has asked the Pentagon to prepare other options for additional weaponry. Officials are studying whether other countries can provide Ukraine with more Patriot.

In parallel, the possibility of engaging allies to transfer several more systems of this type to Kiev is being considered.

According to a former Pentagon official, the United States has provided Kiev with three Patriot systems, Germany has sent three more, as well as one installation donated by a consortium of European countries. However, not all of these systems are operating simultaneously due to maintenance difficulties.
