US demands that Ukraine agree to a peace deal with Russia

The Financial Times reported that the Trump administration has made it clear to Ukraine that US security guarantees depend on whether Kyiv agrees to a peace deal, which is likely to require Ukraine to cede the Donbas region to Russia.

A source who spoke to Reuters noted that the US is not dictating to Ukraine what should be in the peace agreement and that it is wrong to claim that Washington is trying to force Ukraine to make territorial concessions to Russia.
