US demands Russian Federation return abducted Ukrainian children

This is stated in the report of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the U.S. House of Representatives.

In it they called for their return before the conclusion of a peace agreement.

“Putin is a war criminal, and under his leadership, the Russian military brutally kidnapped and illegally deported tens of thousands of Ukrainian children from their homeland,” Meeks said.

He emphasized that these atrocities are not isolated incidents, but are a direct consequence of the war that Putin started.

“The United States is obliged to condemn these inhumane actions of Russia and demand the immediate return of all children abducted by Russia without exception,” he added.

McCaul emphasized that Russia has kidnapped at least 19,500 Ukrainian children from their native land since the war began, with some estimates putting the actual number as high as 200,000.

"These children have been stripped of their national identity, given to Russian families, or indoctrinated as Kremlin soldiers. As a father, I can't imagine the pain their families have endured. The mass abduction of children by Russia is pure evil; the United States must demonstrate moral leadership by demanding the return of every child to his or her family in Ukraine before true peace can be achieved," he added.

Senators Chuck Grassy (Republican) and Amy Klobuchar (Democrat) filed the resolution in the Senate.
