Ukraine has agreed to a cessation of hostilities - Kellogg

“I just got back from London where we met last week with the Ukrainian team as well as the Europeans and we had 22 specific conditions that they agreed to,” he said.

Kellogg admitted that Ukrainian officials didn't like all of them, but that's normal when you're doing any kind of negotiation. “The first thing they want is a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire that leads to a peace agreement. I mean a comprehensive sea, air, land infrastructure for a minimum of 30 days. These 30 days can be the basis for a permanent peace initiative.”

Ukraine has agreed to territorial concessions, but not de jure, on a permanent basis, but de facto - according to the current situation and the actual map of hostilities, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

“Ukrainians are ready to give up the territories occupied by the Russians, not de jure, permanently, but de facto, because the Russians have actually occupied this land. They have agreed to that. And they told me that last week,” he said.

According to Kellogg, it's now up to the Russians, to Putin.

The American president wants a permanent, comprehensive cease-fire for at least 30 days and then we can extend it.

Kellogg mentioned the growing European support for Ukraine, saying there are plans to create a new counterforce led by Britain and France, but without US troops.
