US demands that Zelensky sign a peace plan by November 27

The 28-point plan calls for significant concessions from Kyiv that cross its long-standing “red lines.” The US expects President Volodymyr Zelensky to sign the agreement by Thanksgiving so it can be presented to Moscow later this month and finalized by early December, according to the Financial Times.

“The Ukrainian president has officially received a draft plan from the American side, which, according to the American side, could help restore diplomacy,” said people familiar with the matter who are close to the president's office.

They added that Kyiv has agreed to work on the provisions of the plan in order to achieve a just end to the war, and that Zelenskyy expects to discuss with Trump the existing diplomatic opportunities and key points necessary to achieve peace.

According to the sources, the proposal requires Ukraine to transfer control of territories in eastern Donbas to Russia, reduce the size of its armed forces by half, and give up important categories of weapons. Ukrainian officials are preparing counterproposals to present to the American side.
