He noted that winter could be very harsh for Ukrainians due to attacks on their energy infrastructure carried out by the Russians over the past few months, Fox News reports.

"Obviously, this winter could be very harsh for Ukrainians due to attacks on their energy infrastructure carried out by the Russians over the past few months. But at the same time, Ukrainians are not sitting idly by. I mean, they are lobbying for their own attacks against the Russians, who are damaging their infrastructure and oil and gas industry," he said.

In his opinion, US President Donald Trump has the right approach to ending the violence.

“President Trump, I think, is taking the right approach, namely that the killings must stop. It's pointless. It's been going on for four years. No one is gaining any strategic advantage. The death and destruction simply must stop,” he said.
