Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said that 20-25 percent of the EU budget will go to Ukraine.

“Based on the knowledge of experts, I can say that 20-25 percent of the new budget of the European Union will go to Ukraine,” Orban said.

The problem with the budgets, he said, is that they lack a real strategic basis, they need to be in line with the goals they want to achieve, Telex reported.

“This budget has only one goal: to slyly and covertly admit Ukraine to the European Union,” said Orban, who believes that cooperative relations should be established with Ukrainians, not membership.

According to him, this future budget and the EU's attitude towards Ukraine is similar to migration. He expressed that “once you let them in, you can no longer keep them out.”

If the Ukrainians were to enter the EU economic space, he said, the money would hopelessly go there, although he believes Ukraine is not ready for membership. Orban knows roughly who and what countries he will have to negotiate with to be able to pass an acceptable budget in Brussels.

“This is a budget of hopelessness,” Orban characterized the plan.

According to him, the EU wants to finance ill-conceived goals, agrees to stagnation, and the level of its ambitions is low and does not inspire optimism.
