German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Berlin is currently unable to transfer additional Patriot systems to Ukraine.

Pistorius called on allies to support Ukraine's air defense, as Germany has limited capabilities to do so. He noted that Germany has already made a disproportionately large contribution, giving Ukraine more than a third of its own Patriot systems, Die Zeit reports.

“Nothing more can be done because we ourselves are waiting for replacements,” he said.

Details: Pistorius also acknowledged that the number of IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile systems supplied to Ukraine is insufficient.

Germany remains the only country that can supply these systems to Kyiv, and does so on a permanent basis in a sense. Despite a significant increase in the intensity of Russian attacks, previous deliveries are still insufficient.

Pistorius appealed to NATO and EU partners, given Kyiv's critical need for ammunition and equipment. He noted that the task for all allies now is to jointly check their own stockpiles, especially those countries that may still have spare capacity to strengthen Ukraine's shield.
