Georgia accuses Ukraine of obstacles to EU eccession

According to Bochorishvili, from the first days of Russia's full-scale aggression, Georgia has done everything possible to constantly declare its political support for Ukraine, reports European Pravda.

She criticized the negative assessment of Georgia in the European Commission's enlargement report, stating that "the conclusions reached in the European Commission report completely distort the real facts."

She justified Georgia's reluctance to impose sanctions against Russia.

"No one wants to confront Russia and create additional security challenges. This is entirely natural. The government's primary responsibility is to avoid threats to the country. This is our responsibility, and if we do this, it should not be condemned—it should be welcomed," Bochorishvili stated.

She complained that Georgia's path to EU integration and the process of obtaining candidate status were somehow accompanied by a negative attitude from Ukraine, aimed at preventing Georgia from achieving candidate status.

"We saw firsthand the campaigns that were conducted in 2022-2023 – before we obtained candidate status, and Ukraine's involvement in this area was repeatedly evident, as they opposed Georgia's European integration in various forms. This happened, it wasn't hidden, we all know," she asserted.
