France names condition for sending troops to Ukraine

According to French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, the issue of sending a contingent of peacekeepers to Ukraine is quite delicate. And after the conclusion of the European summit in Paris on European defense, it is not relevant at the moment, BFMTV reported.

“This is not the issue today. It is too early to talk about it. This issue will come up when the right moment comes, once there is a peace that can be guaranteed,” Barro said.

According to Barro, a lasting peace must be established before the question of a possible dispatch of the French military can arise. Only this can prevent the front line from approaching the EU countries.

“We need a peace treaty that guarantees that Russia will not attack Ukraine again. What form will these guarantees take? It's too early to talk about it,” he said.
