Duda expects Trump to take steps to end the war in Ukraine

“I expect that President Trump, who is really loud about his desire to end the war in Ukraine, will propose and implement solutions that will not only be a political and economic victory, but that will force Vladimir Putin to sit at the negotiating table,” Duda stressed.

He emphasized that Trump is first and foremost a businessman, and this is what he always repeats in all discussions, European Pravda reported.

“President Trump has a business style of doing politics and talking about politics. Not all politicians like it and not everyone is used to it,” he said.

According to Duda, it is a slightly different language and a slightly different way of doing business.

He recalled that the United States has long supported Ukraine.

“It was Donald Trump who was the first to help Ukraine. I mean the Pentagon budget for 2020 - it was during his first presidency. He was already providing military support to Ukraine at a time when no one was seriously thinking about war and that Ukraine needed to defend itself,” he said.

According to him, today, in this situation, it is hard to be surprised by the words of President Donald Trump, who asks: “What does America get out of this? Does Ukraine have something to offer America?”.

Referring to the issue of ending the war in Ukraine, Duda assessed that the most important thing is to restore the primacy of international law.

“Ukraine must regain all the lands that are currently occupied by Russia, which are internationally recognized Ukrainian territory. This would be an ideal solution,” he said and emphasized that the war must be stopped and Russia must not win.
