Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said cybercrime with Ukrainian roots is on the rise.

“Recently there has been a marked increase in bank fraud and hacker attacks, including cyber fraud based in Ukraine. All it takes is one bad click and a family's savings go up in flames,” he said.

Fraudsters cause eight billion forints (almost 20 million euros) worth of damage to Hungarian families every year.

He announced that a network of 19 people linked to Ukrainian organized crime had recently been dismantled, and he believes that the measures taken so far should be strengthened.

“The government meeting on Wednesday will decide on new tools to combat hacking attacks on banks linked to Ukrainian criminal circles,” Orban said.
