According to Miller, India is helping Russia wage war against Ukraine by purchasing Russian oil, Reuters reports.

“He made it very clear that it is unacceptable for India to continue financing this war by purchasing oil from Russia,” he stressed.

Miller's criticism was one of the harshest from the Trump administration against one of the United States' main partners in the Indo-Pacific region.

“People will be shocked to learn that India is actually on par with China in purchasing Russian oil. This is a striking fact,” he added.

He called Trump's relationship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi “extraordinary.”
