Ending the war should be a victory for Trump, not Putin - Zelensky

Zelensky believes Ukraine's European allies do not have enough soldiers to contain the Russian dictator's army, Bloomberg reported.

“This can't happen without the United States. Even if some European friends think it's possible, it's not. No one will take risks without the United States,” he said.

Zelensky warned that without a long-term commitment from Ukraine's Western allies, Putin would use the ceasefire as an opportunity to rearm and launch a new offensive.

“Ending the war should be Trump's victory, not Putin's. Putin is nobody for him,” he said.

Zelensky wants security guarantees from Trump before entering direct talks with Putin.

“The only question is what kind of security guarantees, and frankly, I want to have an understanding before negotiations. If he can guarantee this lasting and irreversible security for Ukraine, we will move this diplomatically,” he said.
