Zelensky named the main topics of talks with Putin

“If I meet with him, we should come out with a political victory - a ceasefire, an exchange of all prisoners for all prisoners or something like that,” Zelensky told Liberation.

According to him, Russians will not trust Ukrainians and Ukrainians will not trust Russians. He believes that only external mediators can guarantee compliance with any agreements.

Zelensky insists on the need for reliable, balanced mediation that would be respected by both sides. He mentions the US as a possible guarantor of the control mechanism and believes that the presence of US President Donald Trump could encourage the Russian ruler to come: “If Putin doesn't come, it will look like a total defeat for him.”

He calls for tough new sanctions against Russia, particularly by the US and the EU.

Regarding the possible duration of the conflict, Zelensky replied, "No one knows how long it will last. But not ten years. Ukraine will not endure it. It is expensive for everyone, and not only for friends, but also for enemies."
