We can't be stupid people anymore - Trump

He confirmed that his administration does not intend to suspend the tariffs despite international pressure and active negotiations with a number of countries, Ukrainska Pravda reported.

“We are not considering such a possibility,” Trump stated.

According to him, Washington has a $36 trillion national debt that arose for a reason, and his administration will negotiate with many countries, including China, to fix it.

Trump emphasized that many countries are trying to reach new agreements with the U.S. and the U.S. side seeks to make fair treaties with each of them. He warned that if there is no compromise, these nations will not be able to participate in cooperation with the US.

"We can't do that anymore. We can't be stupid people anymore," Trump said.

The president paid special attention to the European Union, which he accused of a trade monopoly.

"The bloc was created to harm the United States. The countries united to create a kind of monopoly - a united force against the United States in trade," he said.

He said the EU manipulates duties and restricts imports of US goods, but in return exports millions of cars to the US.

"They don't take our automobiles. They don't take our agricultural products, and yet they send millions of cars to the US. It's not going to be like that anymore. It's not fair," Trump summarized.
