The US National Security Agency has concluded that Ukraine did not attempt to attack Putin's residence, refuting Russia's claims of an alleged assassination attempt on him.

This conclusion is confirmed by the assessment of the US Central Intelligence Agency, which also found no evidence of preparations for an attack on Putin. The CIA declined to comment officially, but an American official familiar with the intelligence confirmed this information, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Ukraine attempted to strike a military target that Kyiv had already attacked earlier. It is located in the same region as Putin's country residence, but not near it.

US President Donald Trump has publicly expressed doubt about Russian claims of a drone attack. On the social network Truth Social, he shared a link to a New York Post editorial titled: “Putin's false claims of an ‘attack’ show that Russia is the one standing in the way of peace.”

Putin, who has been waging a brutal war for almost four years, believes that any violence near him deserves special outrage.

On Christmas Day alone, Russia launched 131 drones at Kyiv and other cities, killing seven civilians. The Kremlin is deliberately targeting residential buildings and power stations. Russians are kidnapping children. They torture and execute prisoners. Moscow has repeatedly tried to kill Zelensky. Any attack on Putin is more than justified.

But the truth is that the drone strike most likely did not happen at all. Peskov admitted that the Russians cannot provide any evidence and called on the press to “take the Kremlin at its word.”
