The US military command claimed responsibility for the attack, citing operational necessity for the targeting.

According to one US official, the bridge was intended to become an important route for the deployment of Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.

Iranian state media deny the military significance of the facility, emphasizing that the B1 bridge hasn't even been opened for operations yet.
