Trump doesn’t need the Strait of Hormuz

He stated that the U.S. is in excellent shape because it does not import oil through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has blocked.

“The US imports almost no oil through the Strait of Hormuz and will not import it in the future. We don’t need it. And the countries of the world that receive oil through the Strait of Hormuz must take care of this strait. They must protect it. They must seize it and protect it. They could do this easily,” Trump said.

He noted that the U.S. could be helpful in such an operation, but the initiative must come from other countries. Trump advised them to buy oil from Washington or go and take it from the Strait of Hormuz.

"So to those countries that can’t get fuel—many of whom refuse to participate in decapitating Iran—we had to do it on our own—I have a proposal. No. 1, buy oil from the United States of America. We have plenty of it. We have so much of it. And second, muster up a little belated courage. You should have done this earlier. You should have done this with us, as we asked. Go ahead and just take it, protect it, use it for yourselves," he said.

He assured that such an operation would be easy, since Iran has effectively been destroyed. Otherwise, according to Trump, the strait will open naturally after the end of hostilities.
