Stubb named Ukraine's number one security guarantor

Stubb said that one of the key results of these negotiations was the start of working out the details of future security guarantees.

“And the starting point is very simple. The number one security guarantor for Ukraine is Ukraine itself. It has one of the most modern and largest armies in the world,” Stubb said.

He added that Europe would support this, and the US would coordinate the provision of certain assistance, cooperation, and support.

“So now we are working out the details. And remember that it is not Russia that will tell Europe or the US what they can or cannot do in terms of security guarantees,” Stubb said.
