Whitcoff flies to Putin

His visit to the Russian capital will take place the day after Whitcoff, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Jared Kushner met with a Ukrainian delegation in Florida, CNN reports.

After the meeting, Rubio said that progress had been made, but there was still much work to be done.

He said that US officials had been in contact with the Russian side to varying degrees, but that they also understood their point of view quite well.

It is not known whether Kushner will accompany Whitcoff to Russia. Last week, President Donald Trump suggested that his son-in-law might travel to Moscow with the special envoy.

Trump confirmed that Whitcoff and Putin are planning to meet. He did not specify when exactly the meeting would take place, noting: “Sometime next week.”
