US wants to end the war in a way that protects Ukraine's future, - Rubio

The US has made some progress on this, but hasn't reached its goal yet, according to Fox News.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is confident that decisions in Russia are made only by Putin, not his advisers.

“Only Putin can end the war on the Russian side. Therefore, we continue to explore options,” he said.

For 10 months now, the US has been trying to bring the two sides together and develop proposals that would suit both.

“We are doing everything we can to make this work. We have been working on this for 10 months. And we have really made progress, we have gotten closer. But we are not there yet, we are still not close enough,” Rubio said.
