Two-time Oscar winner Michael Caine turns 92 tomorrow

What is most surprising about Michael Caine is not that he lived to be 92 (for example, the late Gene Hackman lived to be 95), while acting in films until his ninetieth birthday, but that until the very end of his acting career he played leading roles, and roles of eccentric, temperamental old men at that. 

For example, in the film "Bestseller", which was shown in Ukrainian distribution, the 88-year-old Caine played the leading role of a writer who is forced to go on a tour to "promote" his novel - and he reluctantly agrees, setting an unlimited amount of whiskey and cigars as a condition. At the same time, he begins to violate the rules of political correctness on this tour so much that the publishing house explains his shocking behavior to the media as follows: "He is not a homophobe. He hates everyone."

In addition, Caine is one of the most famous Cockneys in show business. But he is also a two-time Oscar winner and the only actor, along with Jack Nicholson, to have been nominated for an Oscar in four different decades.

Caine owes his long-standing success to his hard work, character (character should probably come first) and following his "rules". They can be easily found on the Internet, and we will quote only the one that concerns our topic today - longevity.

I know I'm old, but I don't feel old, says Caine. According to him, age exists only in a person's head, and he has seen seventy-year-olds who have buried themselves alive and ninety-year-olds who enjoy every day. Therefore, the actor sums up, “I remain young, refusing to consider myself old.”
