Trump approves long-range strikes on Russia

Commenting on Trump's position regarding Ukrainian forces striking deep into Russian territory, potentially even with American weapons, Kellogg noted that the Ukrainians never asked for American troops to be sent, but instead requested weapons, capabilities, and permission to use them, Fox News reports.

In response to a follow-up question about whether Ukrainian troops have permission to use American weapons in this way, Kellogg said, “It varies.”

"Sometimes they have that permission, sometimes they don't. I think everyone has to follow the president's instructions. He is the commander-in-chief under the Constitution, and everyone has to obey him. If the president goes left, you go left. If he says go right, you go right. That's the president. According to the latest data, none of us received any electoral college votes, but he did. So when the president says to do something, we just have to do it and comply," Kellogg said.

When asked whether Trump's position is that Ukraine can launch long-range strikes against Russia and that this has been authorized by the president, Kellogg replied in the affirmative.

"I think that after reading what he said, as well as what Vice President Vance and Secretary Rubio said, the answer is yes. Use the opportunity to strike from a long distance. There is no such thing as a safe zone. That's one of the reasons why, I believe, last week — and this has been confirmed — President Zelensky asked President Trump for Tomahawk missiles," Kellogg said.

He clarified that the decision on the potential provision of these missiles has not yet been made and depends solely on President Trump.
