Djuro Jovanic, director of Serbia’s Military-Security Agency, stated that Serbian authorities found no “Ukrainian link” in the attempted sabotage of the gas pipeline running to Hungary.

Jovanic said that a great deal of disinformation is circulating in the wake of this incident. He refuted Hungary’s insinuations regarding Ukraine’s involvement, Kurir reports.

“The disinformation suggests that the Serbian Armed Forces and their personnel are working for some other or third party, finding Ukrainian explosives and blaming Ukraine for this. That is not true,” he said.

Jovanović emphasized that the manufacturer of the explosives does not necessarily mean that it is the perpetrator or the instigator. He noted that the markings on the explosives indicate that they were manufactured in the United States.

“Some might say, ‘Is it possible that the United States of America is orchestrating something like this right now?’” he added.
