Romania demands compensation from Ukraine

His stance on Russia's war against Ukraine is neutrality, not escalation and not supplying weapons, but joining Trump's policy, Digi24 reported.

He opposes further aid to Ukraine and would focus on his own population if he wins the Romanian presidential election.

“Ukraine needs us, not us in Ukraine. Ukraine should respect the community of Romanians who live in Ukraine. We want compensation for Romania's participation so far in the hostilities,” Simion said.

He said the form of such compensation could still be discussed.

“But for the Patriot system donated by Klaus Iohannis as national treason and other expenses that Romanians made out of their own pockets, we should get something in return,” he said.
