Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated more than 200 square kilometers

The area of liberated territory is almost equal to the cumulative achievements of Russian troops for the entire month of December 2025, according to AFP.

This is Ukraine's biggest territorial success in such a short period since the counteroffensive in June 2023.

“These Ukrainian counterattacks were likely made possible by the recent blocking of Russian forces' access to Starlink. According to Russian military correspondents, this caused serious disruptions to communications and troop control on the battlefield,” ISW reports.

The main advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was recorded approximately 80 kilometers east of Zaporizhzhia, where the Russians had been successful since the summer of 2025. Ukrainian forces also regained control of territories in the Kharkiv, Konstantinovka, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlovsk directions.
