US has issued an ultimatum to Ukraine

The administration of US President Donald Trump has made it clear to Ukraine that US security guarantees will depend on Kyiv's agreement to a peace deal, the Financial Times reports.

The deal provides for the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions not occupied by Russia.

The US has informed Ukraine that it can offer more weapons to strengthen its army in peacetime if it agrees to the agreement.
