U.S. believes Iran will halt oil production

U.S. President Donald Trump has clearly stated that the U.S. Navy will continue the blockade of Iranian ports.

“In a matter of days, the storage facility on Kharq Island will be full, and Iran’s low-yield oil wells will be shut down. Restricting Iran’s maritime trade directly targets the regime’s primary sources of revenue,” Bessent wrote.

The U.S. Treasury Department will continue to apply maximum pressure to systematically erode Tehran’s ability to generate and move funds.

“Any person or vessel facilitating these flows—through covert trade and finance—risks falling under U.S. sanctions. We continue to freeze funds stolen by the corrupt leadership in the interests of the Iranian people," Bessent noted.
