Russia demands $230 billion from Euroclear

The Russian Central Bank, which filed a lawsuit against the Euroclear depository in a Moscow court, is demanding 18.2 trillion rubles (about $229 billion) from it.

On December 12, the Russian Central Bank filed a lawsuit in a Moscow court over the illegal actions of the Euroclear depository, which caused damage, as well as over the European Commission's plans to use the bank's frozen assets, according to European Truth.

On the morning of December 15, the court's press service reported that the Central Bank of Russia's claim against Euroclear for 18.2 trillion rubles (about $229 billion) had been received by the Moscow Arbitration Court.
