US has responded to China's military exercises near Taiwan

“China's military actions and rhetoric toward Taiwan and other countries in the region are unnecessarily escalating tensions. We urge Beijing to exercise restraint, cease military pressure on Taiwan, and instead engage in constructive dialogue,” said Thomas Pigott, principal deputy spokesperson for the US State Department.

The US supports peace in the Taiwan Strait and opposes the use of force to change the status quo.
