Trump prepares to strike Iran

Trump has not yet made a final decision on striking Iran. Discussions are ongoing, with the White House weighing the risks of escalation and the political and military consequences, CBS News reports.

Over the next three days, the Pentagon will temporarily withdraw some personnel from the Middle East region, mainly to Europe or back to the US, in case of possible action or counterattacks by Iran if the US decides to continue its operation.

The Pentagon's redeployment of resources and personnel ahead of possible US military action is standard practice and does not necessarily mean that an attack on Iran is inevitable.

White House spokeswoman Karolina Levitt said there are many reasons and arguments in favor of striking Iran, but diplomacy is always the president's first choice.

She declined to say whether a potential strike would be coordinated with Israel.

Levitt recalled that the Trump administration had already carried out a very successful operation in June targeting Iran's nuclear facilities.

“Iran would be very wise to make a deal with President Trump and his administration,” she said.
