I would like to raise the topic of punishment of Russian war criminals - so that we have a more realistic understanding of what we can expect.
"Who was punished? Reality after the Holocaust"
The closest example is the punishment of war criminals in Nazi Germany. In fact, the number of those convicted and brought to justice is ridiculously small compared to the number of people who committed the crimes.

"200-500 thousand involved - 6,500 convicted: lessons from post-war justice"
Research by the Institute for Contemporary History (IfZ, Germany), Yad Vashem and the "Who was involved?" project shows that at different periods of the Holocaust, from 200,000 to 500,000 German citizens participated in crimes against Jews. These were not only SS men, but also:
Einsatzgruppen - about 3,000 people who killed more than 1.3 million Jews in the USSR and Ukraine.
Ordnungspolizei - up to 60,000 Germans who directly participated in mass shootings.
Gendarmerie and auxiliary police - tens of thousands.
Railway workers, officials, suppliers who organized deportations - another about 200-300 thousand.
Wehrmacht soldiers who participated in punitive actions - according to various estimates, at least 100,000 had a direct relationship to the murders or contributed to them.
As historian Dieter Pohl emphasizes: "Without the participation of hundreds of thousands of ordinary Germans, the Holocaust would have been impossible."
After 1945, in the courts of the Allies and the Federal Republic of Germany, about 6,500 German citizens were convicted of crimes against Jews. Of these, fewer than 200 received life imprisonment or the death sentence. About 200 high-ranking officials, mostly leaders, were tried at the Nuremberg trials.
In the first Bundestag (1949), about 129 of the 402 deputies (≈32%) had previously belonged to the NSDAP. By 1969, this generation was gradually disappearing, but about 60–70 deputies out of 496 still had NSDAP membership in their biography (≈12–14% of parliament).
After 1945, the process of denazification quickly eased: already in 1949–1951, millions of former NSDAP members were rehabilitated. In post-war Germany, officials, judges, police, scientists and politicians were often the same people who served during the Third Reich.
Therefore, the work of identifying and punishing many criminals was also taken on by intelligence services, in particular the Mossad.
Proposals:
Create a memorial like Yad Vashem.
Establish an institute similar to the Shimon Wiesenthal Institute, with a database of the names of ALL those involved - from leaders to executors and accomplices.
Support the creation of an organization that will insist on bringing all criminals to justice, regardless of the statute of limitations.
