On the Day of Unity, the National Opera of Ukraine hosted a large-scale concert “Art Unites Ukraine”

As reported by the website of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, the concert program consisted of two parts. The first part featured masterpieces of Ukrainian opera, including works by Mykola Lysenko, Kostyantyn Dankevich, Borys Lyatoshynsky and other composers. The audience heard the overture to the opera "Taras Bulba", arias from the operas "Bohdan Khmelnytsky", "Katerina" and others.

The second part was dedicated to European musical works: arias and scenes from operas by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Gounod, Bizet and other great composers were performed. The program ended with a joint performance of the prayer "God, Great, One", which became a symbol of the unity and spiritual strength of the Ukrainian people.

"This event is unique, given the format of uniting representatives of all opera houses of Ukraine on one stage. This format was launched last year. I believe that it will develop into a good tradition, when the National Opera will be a unifying platform for all artists of the opera stage, - comments First Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Galina Grigorenko. - Art has always been and remains the platform that unites Ukrainians. It is symbolic that on the Day of Unity we demonstrate not only our unity within the country, but also our belonging to the European cultural community." 

The concert not only demonstrated the high skill of Ukrainian performers, but also showed the unshakable unity of the country through the power of art.
