EU warns US against concessions to Russia

A European Commission representative emphasized that any agreement must contain strong security guarantees for Ukraine, which will provide for no restrictions on the (Ukrainian) armed forces and support from third countries, Euractiv reports.

“The Russian position is presented as an exchange of territories, but it looks like a rather one-sided exchange,” said a senior European Commission official.

He added that instead of territorial concessions, security guarantees are of paramount importance for Ukraine.
