China accuses US of selfishness

On the eve of the White House head Donald Trump allowed talks or a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and also called him a “friend”, Sky News reported.

When asked about this, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said that pressure, threats and extortion were the wrong way to interact.

“If the US wants to talk, it should show an attitude of equality, respect and mutual benefit,” he said.

He reiterated that if the US is set for a trade war, China's response will continue to the end.

The Chinese foreign ministry spokesman added that the US uses tariffs as a weapon to exert maximum pressure and seek selfish benefits.
