Putin wants to make a lot of money for Russia, - Trump

When asked whether he would rather deal with Putin or Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Trump said that both are very strong leaders, according to CBS News.

“You can't joke around with these people. They are people who must be taken very seriously. They are serious people. They are tough, intelligent leaders,” he said.

When asked about the red carpet for Putin in Alaska, Trump replied that he rolls out the red carpet for everyone.

Trump once again emphasized that Russia's war against Ukraine would not have started if he had been president at the time.

“It was Joe Biden's war, not my war. I inherited this stupid war,” he said.

Trump recalled that he had started eight wars around the world.

He explained how he resolved the conflicts.

“You know how I stopped them? In many cases, in 60% of cases, I said, ‘If you don't stop, I will impose tariffs on both of your countries, and you will not be able to do business with the United States,’” he said.

Trump explained why tariffs cannot help in the case of Putin's war in Ukraine.

“It works with Putin. I think I treated him differently because, first of all, we don't do a lot of business with Russia. And I think he would like to come in and trade with us, and he wants to make a lot of money for Russia, and I think that's great,” Trump said.
