Israel and Lebanon to hold talks in the U.S.

A State Department official told CBS that the U.S. welcomed the constructive engagement that began on April 14.

The White House will continue to facilitate direct, good-faith discussions between the governments of these two countries.

The meeting will include representatives from the Israeli, Lebanese, and American sides. Israel will be represented by its ambassador to the U.S., and Lebanon by its former ambassador to Washington, Simon Karam.
