The EU will not give Greenland to Trump

Europe, as expected, has come out in a united front against US President Donald Trump's claims to Greenland.

As reported by "European Pravda", citing an interview with Antonio Costa by Euronews, the President of the European Council called the territorial integrity of Denmark "an essential issue" for the European Union and assured the country of the EU's support.

According to Costa, the EU provides "full support" to Denmark amid Donald Trump's threat to take control of Greenland and is ready to defend the principles of national sovereignty and territorial integrity. "It is these fundamental principles that motivate us to support Ukraine," the head of the European Council added.

"We must not stop defending these principles when the territorial integrity of a member state of the European Union is at stake. The territorial integrity of Denmark, the sovereignty of Denmark, the stability of its borders... is an essential issue for us," he stressed.

Costa also expressed hope that the situation over Greenland will not turn into a conflict, "and if it does arise, it will be resolved peacefully, as is proper between allies."
