In real life, Lena Headey is the complete opposite of Cersei.

Today, we can repeat what we've written before: the years go by, but for almost all the leading characters in Game of Thrones, which ended six years ago and became history, their subsequent acting work doesn't measure up to their roles in the series, with the possible exception of Jason Momoa and Jerome Flynn.

Incidentally, this same Jerome Flynn (Bronn of the Blackwater) was once the lover (they later fell out and even refused to be on set together) of Lena Headey, the heroine of our article today, for whom all of the above is even more true than for the other Game of Thrones actors.

We mentioned this because in real life, Headey is not the embodiment of absolute evil, as in the series, but a very down-to-earth and even sentimental woman. As Headey admitted, after the end of each project in which she participated, she cried and asked the participants' phone numbers so she could call them and be friends in the future. Moreover, by her own admission, she usually feels nervous and insecure on set—again, the complete opposite of Cersei.

Yet her Cersei is one of the most outstanding characters in the series. Describing her, the British publication The Guardian once quoted a New Yorker reviewer as calling Cersei "a beautiful expression of terror, combining slender grace with boundless evil," adding that "there was something compelling about her inhumanity."

Nevertheless, Headey says she didn't experience the emotional devastation associated with ending a nine-year stint, like Kit Harington, who was forced to seek treatment for alcoholism because of it. Perhaps this is due to her age, which has taught her to overcome this problem.

Headey's most recent notable acting role was in the Watergate series "White House Plumbers," where she played Dorothy Hunt, the wife of the CIA spy played by Woody Harrelson. Dorothy Hunt is a real person, described by one of Richard Nixon's advisers as the smartest woman in the world. So, her experience playing Cersei came in handy. Incidentally, Dorothy Hunt (the real one), like Cersei, died relatively young and not of natural causes.

And yet, despite the passion of her Cersei, Headey has a very different type of sexuality in real life. Incidentally, three years ago, she remarried.
