Oil price exceeds $100 per barrel

Oil prices soared more than 9% due to worsening supply conditions caused by Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Associated Press.

The price of WTI crude oil jumped to around $95 per barrel.

The latest attacks marked an escalation of Iran's campaign to inflict sufficient damage on the global economy and force the US and Israel to end the war that began 12 days ago. However, there are no signs that the intensity of the war is decreasing.
