For the first time in history, the Czech Republic has become independent of Russian oil

“We have taken another step towards our energy independence,” said Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

This came after the completion of the modernization of the capacity of the TAL oil pipeline coming from the west, ČTK reported.

According to Fiala, the first increased volumes of oil supplied through this pipeline have already arrived at the central oil depot in the Czech Republic.

The country can now pump up to 8 million tons of crude oil per year from western pipelines, which will fully cover the consumption of refineries in the Czech Republic.
