Ukraine to receive a batch of Patriot missiles

As part of the new package, the UK will supply air defense interceptors, large-caliber artillery shells, and drones to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian attacks this winter.

The weaponry will be supplied via the PURL mechanism, through which Ukraine's allies purchase US-made arms for its needs.

Patriot missiles and other air defense equipment will be delivered to Ukraine before winter sets in, helping it protect critical national infrastructure, the civilian population, and the armed forces from Russian attacks.

The announcement of this aid follows visits to Kyiv by the UK Prime Minister and Defense Secretary, where they heard from the Ukrainian President about the importance of additional support ahead of winter.

"During our first visits to Kyiv, both the Prime Minister and I clearly realized how important it is to support Ukraine through this winter, as Putin prepares to weaponize the season while continuing barbaric attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure. We pledged to mobilize allies and provide more support wherever we can," stated Defense Secretary Wes Streeting.
