Ukraine may receive Patriot and SAMP/T systems

France, together with Italy, is working on transferring the SAMP/T system and Aster missiles to Ukraine. Exact dates have not yet been announced, Ukrinform reports.

Responding to a question about whether additional Patriot systems would be transferred to Ukraine soon, the Élysée Palace stated that active discussions are currently underway.

"This issue is currently being discussed. Countries that manufacture or have already acquired Patriot systems are considering several options," the Élysée Palace said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been most vocal in pushing for the strengthening of Ukraine's air defenses, as Russia changes its tactics and the types of weaponry used to strike Ukraine.

Sources note that Patriot systems alone will not be enough for Kyiv; a broader range of air defense assets is required.
