It will be a disaster for Ukraine not to complete units 3-4 of Khmelnitsky NPP.

"The worst scenario is if Bulgaria does not sell the two reactor vessels to Ukraine. It will be a catastrophe for us not to complete the KNPP. We are seeing a renaissance of the atom all over the world. The World Bank is opening financing. This is an irreversible process, without the atom there will be no green transition. We have options to order equipment in other countries, but it is time. At least 3-4 years to manufacture the hull," Energy Minister German Galushchenko said.

Galushchenko added that the ministry, in cooperation with the IAEA, has found certain opportunities to push Bulgaria to implement the project, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

"In fact, the issue is not closed, we have no official refusal of Bulgaria to continue negotiations. Now intensified the process of negotiations", - said the Minister.

According to him, the issue of acquiring reactors has been suspended due to political processes inside Bulgaria, but the ministry is pondering how to unblock the project.

He emphasized that the internal political movements in Bulgaria, which have slowed down the sale of reactor vessels to Ukraine, are taking place, among other things, under the influence of Russia.
