Trump wants to deal with Iran first, then Cuba

The U.S. is already in contact with Havana, but plans to discuss the situation with Iran first, according to Reuters.

“Cuba also wants to make a deal, and I think that pretty soon we will either reach an agreement or do whatever we need to do,” Trump said.

He added that dialogue with the Cuban side is ongoing, but Washington’s priority at the moment remains negotiations with Tehran.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel previously reported that Havana has already begun negotiations with the U.S.

“These negotiations are aimed at finding solutions through dialogue regarding the bilateral differences that exist between the two countries,” Díaz-Canel noted.

He expressed hope that the talks would help the two countries move away from confrontation.
