Trump claims huge ammunition stockpiles in the US

Trump noted that replenishing weapons stockpiles is crucial in the event of a new conflict, CNN reports.

"We have unlimited, virtually unlimited stockpiles. There are also some types where the situation is a little more tense," he said.

He noted that stockpiles of less advanced weapons are sufficient as defense contractors ramp up production of Patriot interceptor missiles and Tomahawk missiles.

"We have certain types of ammunition that may not be as accurate. They may not be, you know, elite. We have elite ammunition, but we monitor that very closely. But we have certain types that are very powerful and very good, and we have an unlimited supply, so we're in excellent condition. We need to have more. We may have other situations—maybe they will, maybe they won't. We hope nothing else will happen. But we're in a very good position. We literally have huge stockpiles of ammunition," Trump said.
