FBI director secretly visits China

The trip took place after the summit between the US and Chinese leaders, Reuters reports.

The FBI director flew to Beijing on November 7 and stayed there for about a day. On November 8, he held talks with Chinese officials.

Patel's visit to Beijing was not officially announced by either the US or China.

On November 10, China's Ministry of Commerce announced that the country would amend its list of chemical precursors and require licenses for the export of certain chemicals to the US, Canada, and Mexico.
